BIG NOVEL (1) was impressive last time at Del Mar (Dirt), scoring by 7 lengths over this trip. Has been in sound form this prep with a win and two minor placings from six outings. Should prove tough to beat. CLASS CLOWN (5) is a promising type still in first campaign but off to a great start to career. Already a two time winner including last start when scoring by 2 lengths over 5½f at Los Alamitos (Dirt). Among the chances on best figures. GRACE PERIOD (3) hasn't made an impression since resuming despite market confidence. Last start could only manage fifth over 1m at Del Mar (Turf). Look for a better run this time out. LIBERAL LADY (4) drifted back and never threatened at her latest appearance on November 23 finishing seventh over 1m at Del Mar (Dirt). Goes well at this trip, recording four minor placings and is among the main hopes.
