AWASH (2) could only manage sixth when resuming two runs back then improved last start but found one better over 1m at Cranbourne, beaten only half a length after being in the firing line on the turn. Finds a more suitable contest and can get the job done. NATION'S CALL (1) broke through for a win last start when second up from a lay-off, scoring by 1.75 lengths over 1m at Pakenham. Has scope for improvement so he is among the leading chances. STAR VEGA (3) was thereabouts when resuming last start over 6½f at Bendigo, finishing eighth and beaten 2.25 lengths. Has a terrific record here with two wins and one minor placings from three starts. Harder here but should be competitive. Group 3 winner RUN NAAN (6) is a last-start winner nine days ago, scoring by half a length over 1m at Mornington. Well placed and likely to feature.
