STAR OF KONGO (3) wound up strongly only to just miss when when resuming last start over 1m at Bairnsdale. Sure to derive great benefit from that run. Placed to advantage and can feature in the finish. DISCO PRINCE (5) did a fair job on debut last time out, finishing a head from the winner in second over 7f at Ballarat. Sure to improve and can get off the mark this time. HERRLICH (6) returned from a lay-off two-and-a-half weeks ago when he was prominent at the bend before being beaten 2.5 lengths into fourth over 6½f at Bendigo. Meeting a tougher field but with added fitness he is one of the key runners. JUST EXPLOSIVE (7) drifted well back when resuming last start before winding up strongly to finish third, beaten 1.2 lengths, over 7f at Ballarat. Will be tough to stop again.
