THE COOLAKIN KING (2) bounced back last start and scored by 0.7 lengths after being in contention on the corner over 5f at Carnarvon. Likely to be there at the finish again. HAWK (6) ran a strong third over 6f at this track two runs back then was below his best last time over 6½f when fifth, beaten 9 lengths. Freshened for this so should be in the finish. GINGER CHARM (7) finished fourth last start over 6½f at Port Hedland after racing on the pace for much of the way. Solid top-three claims. COMPAK (1) ran below expectations last start, finishing fifth and beaten 6 lengths at Marble Bar over 6f. Has started two times at this course and distance and is yet to miss the placings. Deserves another chance.
