DEVINE ASSASSIN (10) was unplaced on turf over 1m at Balaklava in a then again couldn't find the top-three on the same surface last time out, finishing sixth over 1m2 1/4f at Strathalbyn. Right at home on dirt and worth another try. CRIMSON FACTOR (5) has been out of the placings in two runs since a break, the latest when sixth, beaten 5.5 lengths, over 6¾f at Strathalbyn after she was in contention on the bend. Should be peaking now and is expected to do much better. JAMROCK (2) missed the placings two starts back then ran a better race and finished 4 lengths away in fourth last time out over 7f at Hawker. Meeting a tougher field but on his best form he is one of the chief contenders. MARINA (6) has not won for a long while. Last raced on May 31 when beaten 8 lengths into sixth at this track over 7½f. Good enough on his day and can run a bold race.
