KEW PLAYER (2) settled well back but hit the line well to finish fifth, beaten 2 lengths, over 6f here last time. Capable of overwhelming this field late in proceedings. REAL ALLIANCE (4) was well fancied on the back of a couple of minor placings but could only manage fifth last start over 1m3/4f at Sale. Worth noting Ben Allen is the change of rider. Will drift back but wind up late. Will be tough to stop. NEW YORK SCANDAL (11) doesn't win out of turn, scoring just once from 21 starts. Again tasted defeat last start when fifth over 7f at Caulfield, beaten 2 lengths. Worth noting Jamie Mott goes aboard. Has the talent to get the job done. BOLSHEVIKS (7) missed the placings two runs back then didn't do any better last start when 5 lengths away in 11th over 7½f at Geelong. Well placed to turn things around.
