EXTRACTOR (7) made a strong late bid but just failed to pick up the winner when fresh from a lay-off as favourite last start over 5½f at Gosford. Will strip a lot fitter this time around. Goes up a rung or two but he is capable of another big run. AUTUMN KING (4) showed good early speed last start on debut and fought on well to hold second, beaten a nose, over 5½f at Scone. Big chance based on that effort. FIERCENESS (8) will find this a little easier than his last run six-and-a-half weeks ago when fifth over 6f at Canterbury. Will find this easier. Should be involved in the finish. RIPLEY (13) wasn't far off maiden success before a break of four-and-a-half months, finishing the campaign with a minor placing over 7f at Randwick Kensington. Looks ready to run following a minor placing in a recent Wyong trial. Solid top-three hope.
