MOGUL MONARCH (12) produced a nice effort on debut in better company last start over 5½f at Gosford when second, beaten 5 lengths. Jumps from a wide draw but he will be hard to beat. HYDROMETER (7) made an encouraging debut last time out, finishing 3 lengths from the winner in third over 6f at this track. Has ability and is among the chances. BUCARELI BAY (2) has not raced since he finished seventh over 6f at Scone on November 20. Is lightly raced and looks forward enough after a solid recent trial. Capable of playing a big role.
