ROYALE VELOUTE (8) started favourite last time but went under narrowly over 7f at Forbes. Looks well placed stepping out in trip. Winning chance. AIR COMBAT (1) ran well below his best last time over 6½f at Moree, beaten 6 lengths into ninth at 3/1. The winkers are removed now and looks a top chance in this. WORLD REIGN (6) finished fourth over 7f at Forbes when resuming last start, beaten only 1.4 lengths after being in contention on the bend. Nicely placed to take this out. AMANTAKA (7) settled well back last time then wound up strongly in the straight to finish third over this journey at Dubbo. Expected to feature again.
