QUEEN CALANTHE (13) ran well on debut last start to finish second over 4½f at Goulburn in a tougher race. Promising type with improvement to come so she shouldn't be a maiden for long. LA SIGNORA DANE (6) is a first-starter by Star Witness out of Lady Dane. Fitter for a recent trial placing. Among the leading chances. PROVENCAL (7) returned last time with a solid third at Gosford over 5f when she worked home well. Ideally placed and is sure to play a major role. HAPPY CAPPY (14) was never in contention on debut last time out over 4½f at Newcastle, finishing fifth and beaten 7 lengths. Worth another chance with race experience now in the locker.
