CLEITUS (4) produced a reasonable effort when third last start after being in the firing line on the turn over 1m2f at Ballarat, beaten 2.75 lengths. That followed a win at Werribee the start prior. Needs to be at his best to beat this field but he is good enough to play a major role. ICHIBANSAN (1) has been in the money at his last couple of runs, the latest when second over 1m1f at Murray Bridge. Great chance to take this out. HAYAI MESU (9) has a moderate winning strike-rate but performed well last time at Gawler, finishing third and only 2.5 lengths from the winner at the end of 1m2 1/2f. Meets some better types this time but a big run is on the cards. DINGABLEDINGA (6) scored last start at Balaklava to make it two wins from four starts this campaign. Will find this tougher but must be respected.
