MARACOURT (7) turned in a powerfult finish from well back to just miss out last time over 7f at Morphettville Parks. Will appreciate the longer journey of this race. Going well and is expected to be in the finish again. SLANE (3) showed good early pace over 1m at Pakenham last time and kept going to score by half a length. Meets some better types this time but this looks well within his grasp. SOARING EAGLE (2) was never really a threat when resuming last start over 7f at Flemington, finishing 6 lengths from the winner in ninth. Has good early speed so should take up a forward position. Capable of testing this field. NOT USUAL GLORIOUS (1) finished ninth last start over 1m3f in the LR Gosford Gold Cup at Newcastle after racing on the pace for much of the way. Cannot be underestimated.
