HE'LL RIP (1) ran a better race last start to finish a close second over 7f21yards at Flemington. Taking on a better field but he is worth serious consideration. MORNINGTON PIER (7) made considerable ground in the run home to finish second last start over 1m at Cranbourne. Key runner who can get home hard into the finish. HARTMAN (11) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1m3/4f at Geelong, beaten 2.5 lengths into fourth after being in the firing line on the turn. Needs to be at his best to beat this field but he has the ability to mix it with them. TOP ARCTIC (5) is backing up a week after finishing sixth over 1m at Benalla. No surprise to see him back in form this time.
