MUKTAMIL (5) finished second two runs back at Geelong then improved last time out to score by 1.5 lengths as favourite over 1m4f at Sandown-Hillside. Jamie Mott scored on him last time and retains the ride. Needs to be at his best to beat this field but he is good enough to play a major role. PRIVILEGED SON (4) has put together back-to-back placings after scoring three back at Morphettville Parks, most recently beaten 1.5 lengths into second after he was well back on straightening over 1m4 3/4f at Flemington. Finds a tougher race but a win is not out of the question. MR LINCOLN (6) could only manage sixth two runs back then improved last start but found one better over 1m7 3/4f at Mt Gambier, beaten only a nose after being in the firing line on the turn. Meets a stronger field but he is capable of running a bold race. BRILLIANT VENTURE (3) Group 3 placegetter. Has been in the placings his past two starts, finishing third over 1m4 3/4f at Flemington last time out. Change of jockey to Daniel Stackhouse who has a strong record when aboard with a win and three placings from four rides. Worth including in calculations.
