DUKE OF HASTINGS (14) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1m6f at Flemington, beaten 7 lengths into fourth. Has the ability to produce a better result. DASHING DUCHESS (7) was sent out at long odds last time but ran above expectations to finish second, beaten only 0.8 lengths, over 1m6f at Flemington. Has a high cruising speed. Best figures should see her run well. FIRE GLO TOO (9) settled well back last time out and never threatened when 31 lengths from the winner in 13th over 1m2 1/2f at Sandown-Lakeside. Settles back early but winds up late. Capable of a big run. GOLDEN CRUSADER (4) turned in a much better effort last time out to score by a long neck over 1m4f at Sandown-Hillside. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run.
