QUICK SPELL (13) turned in a moderate effort on debut last start when sixth at Moonee Valley over 6f, beaten 7 lengths. Fitter and the blinkers come off. Expected to be in the finish. MAGNA MAK (7) was in commission second up last start and was in the frame for the second time in as many runs this prep, finishing third over 5f at Werribee. Good chance to break through. MR MARKLE (2) ran well on debut last start to finish second over 5½f at Ararat in a tougher race. Has plenty of upside so he should be in the finish. HOMECOMING (6) is back after a break of four months. At the last run before the layoff she finished seventh over 5f at Hawkesbury. Ran fifth in a recent trial at Randwick Kensington. Nicely placed and can figure in the finish.
