DISKO TRIBUTE (1) has switched yards since scoring by one length at Santa Anita over 5f on January 15. Shapes well and a bold showing is expected. AMERICAN CAT (4) finished third over 5½f at Los Alamitos (Dirt) at his most recent appearance on July 9. Now under the care of new trainer Martin Jr Valenzuela. One of the genuine hopes in the race. ROOKIE MISTAKE (5) returned from a lay-off three weeks ago when he was beaten 4.5 lengths into sixth over 4f124yards at this track. Has a fair record when second up, including two top-three finishes. Finds a tougher race but he can bounce back. PIPER'S CAUSEWAY (6) was in contention on the bend and finished third last start over 4f124yards at this track (Dirt), beaten 2.75 lengths. Should be cherry-ripe. Nicely placed to play a role in the finish.
