ALPHAEUS (4) was out of the money when resuming two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 7f58yards at Kyneton, beaten 1.5 lengths into sixth after being in the firing line on the corner. This is a nice drop in grade so he is one of the main contenders. ALBANIAN BAY (2) was in contention on the turn and progressed nicely last start to finish a close third over 7f at Hamilton after missing the placings at the previous appearance. Best figures measure up. Sure to run well. TINY REBEL (5) showed good early dash and raced on the speed last start before fading to finish 5.5 lengths back in seventh over 7½f at Gawler. One of the main contenders. AOIFE (7) was beaten 8 lengths into tenth in a 1m contest at Bendigo three-and-a-half weeks ago. Better than recent efforts suggest.
