PINK BAROQUE (6) returned from a lay-off last start with a strong win by 1.75 lengths over 6¾f at Newcastle. Fitter for that last hitout and will be a tough nut to crack again. WILD CALM (8) finished out of the money two starts back then was beaten 1.5 lengths when fifth in a 1m2f contest at this track a month ago. Nicely placed to get the prize. BY NINE (4) hasn't raced since finishing fourth at Hawkesbury over 1m2f five-and-a-half weeks ago. Kept ticking over with a recent trial at Warwick Farm. Worth plenty of thought. MCGEEHAN (2) returned from a lay-off two weeks ago when he was beaten 2 lengths into fourth over 6¼f at Randwick Kensington. Fitter and sure to run well.
