POWER BEAU (1) came from well back on cornering and hit the line strongly to score over 6½f at Armidale last time out. Will be tough to hold out again. CHOICE WITNESS (9) filled a minor placing when fresh from a lay-off two starts ago. Could not back that up last time when 5 lengths away in fifth over 5½f at Scone. Well placed and is among the leading players. ROMAN REBEL (2) is a promising galloper who saluted at his only run last prep 13 months ago over 6¼f at Kempsey. Sharpened for this with a recent trial win. Is yet to beaten when resuming from two starts. Has good early toe so he should be handy in the run. Winning claims on best figures. PURPLE ESPRIT (12) is progressing well this campaign, getting the job done by 1.5 lengths last time out over 5½f at Armidale. Finds a suitable race and can feature prominently.
