Going up a level this time but he deserves another chance. FAITHFUL RULER (5) is struggling to break through but hasn't been far away, the latest effort a third, beaten 2.25 lengths, over 6f at Hawthorne (Dirt). Should be poised just off the lead. Should be involved in the finish. CLASSIC MAX (2) is back from a lay-off of nine weeks. Was narrowly beaten at his only appearance when last in work at this track (Dirt) over 5½f. German Terraza who has two wins when partnering stays on. Not to be discounted.
