DOWNEY (2) is backing up just 10 days after he was strongly fancied and finished second over 6¾f at Warwick. Nice run last time and should be in the finish. ANTILLES (9) turned in a nice run when fresh from a lay-off two starts back at Ipswich then missed the placings last time when 2.5 lengths from the winner in fifth over 6¾f at Ipswich. Fitter and deserves another chance. RIPPER SHANK (7) is a five-year-old gelding who is still a maiden after seven starts but has been in the placings two times. Safely held when resuming last start over 5f at Sunshine Coast, finishing ninth and beaten 8 lengths. Must be respected. BRIGHT FLAMES (14) is close to breaking through after two consecutive placings, the latest coming when second over 7f at Talwood. Best figures measure up. Sure to run well.
