SAMUEL LANGHORNE (3) showed good early dash before weakening to be beaten 4 lengths into eighth over 1m2f at Pakenham last time out. Strong record with Blaike Mcdougall aboard, including two wins. Best form puts him right in this. FLAMIN' ROMANS (5) was in contention on the bend and ran a better race last start to finish a close third over 1m4 1/2f at Pakenham after missing the placings at the previous appearance. Worth noting John Allen goes aboard. This looks a sterner test than last time but on his best form he is good enough to take this out. NEWFOUNDLAND (2) ran below expectations last time in the LR Bagot Hcp at this track over 1m6f, finishing fourth and beaten 5.5 lengths. Should camp just off the leaders. Will give backers a great sight. VIVIDEEL (7) was prominent at the bend and finished second last time over 1m2f at Pakenham, beaten 3 lengths. Tackling a deeper field this time but he is up to the task.
