FACTUALLY (13) showed good early speed and raced on the pace last start before fading to finish fourth, beaten 4.5 lengths, over 5f at Ballarat. Will be on the speed in transit and is expected to take some running down. IRISH CONSORT (6) improved sharply on his seventh two starts back at Albury with success as public elect over 5¼f at Leeton two weeks ago, getting home by 4.5 lengths. This looks a sterner test than last time but on his best form he is one of the chief contenders. SAMANTH (9) met with solid support when resuming last start over 4f190yards at Swan Hill when ninth, beaten 4 lengths. Will improve and is worth another chance. PRECAST (11) last appeared on October 24 when a good eighth over 5f125yards at Kyneton, beaten 2.5 lengths, which was her only run of the campaign. Looks one of the genuine hopes in the race.
