SOLVERE (1) has been in the placings his past two starts, finishing third over 7f at Holbrook last time out. Has the pace to be in a prominent position from the outset. Leading contender. DISMOUNT (3) was out of the money when resuming from a lay-off last start over 6f at Bairnsdale, beaten 2.75 lengths. Strips fitter and can find winning ways. BIG DARRYL (9) has been out of the winner's list for a long time, last start finishing sixth at Sale over 6f after being in contention on the bend. Best figures measure up nicely. Can do a lot better. SIR WILLIAM BRUCE (11) finished eighth two runs back then did well last start but found one better over 7f at Deniliquin, beaten only 1.2 lengths. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run.
