Expected to measure up again this time in work. Group 2 placegetter APPIN GIRL (6) is a promising galloper who resumes from a break. Last raced when third over 5½f in the G3 Red Roses Stakes at Flemington 11 months ago. Fitter for a recent trial win. Has won when fresh from a lay-off in the past. Reunites with jockey Boris Thornton who knows her well, including two wins while aboard. Likely to feature. HELLUVA BARTY (3) closed off strongly last start to get up for third, beaten 0.9 lengths, over 5½f at Doomben when returning from a break. Backmarker who keeps coming. Will be picking them up late. XPRESSO (2) is having his first run since May 6. Goes very well when fresh with three wins from six starts, the latest over 5½f at Ipswich at the start of last prep. Fitter for a minor placing in a recent Sunshine Coast Inner Track trial. Makes plenty of appeal.
