SHY GUY (12) is a talented gelding who tackled tougher grade last time, finishing 30 lengths behind Warmonger over 1m4f in the G1 Queensland Derby at this track. Very well placed in this company and looks hard to beat. NEW LEVEL (10) has progressed nicely in his last couple of runs. Finished third at Doomben two starts back then scored by 2.5 lengths last time out over 1m1/4f at Doomben. Ryan Maloney scored on him last time and retains the ride. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run. TANNENBURG (16) showed good early speed and raced on the pace last start before fading to finish sixth, beaten 4.5 lengths, over 7¾f at Canterbury. Must be included among the main hopes. PATMOS ISLAND (4) wound up strongly last time out to finish a head adrift in second over 6½f at Toowoomba when coming back from a break. Drawn to enjoy a nice trail just off the pace. Can feature in the finish.
