MEAT PIE ARTIE (4) has been in the betting at both starts but hasn't managed to break through. Most recently finished eighth over 5f at Sunshine Coast, beaten 3.5 lengths. One of the leading contenders in this suitable contest. BERNICE'S SPIRIT (6) settled well back last time out then found the line strongly to finish 2 lengths away in fifth over 5f at Sunshine Coast. Outsprinted in the run home but kept coming and appears suited by the longer journey. Sure to prove tough to stop. AUTUMN SONG (1) is a six-start maiden who finished eighth at his most recent outing over 1m1/4f at Doomben. Suited in this line up and is among the better hopes. HATASU (7) is a two-start maiden who resumed from a lay-off last start and was beaten 4 lengths when fourth over 6¾f at Doomben. Will derive great benefit from that outing and deserves consideration.
