VALANTINO ROC (6) is back from a lay-off of five months. Closed last campaign with a minor placing over 1m at Sunshine Coast. Has found a suitable race. THE ASTRONOMER (5) was an emphatic winner last time over 6¼f at Ballina with this rider Leslie Tilley engaged. Meets a much tougher line-up this time but has winning claims. SIMPLY REFUSE (7) showed good early dash before weakening to be beaten 4 lengths into eighth over 7f at Eagle Farm last time out. Not to be underestimated.
