UNCLE REG (5) was a gutsy winner last time over 6½f at Los Alamitos (Dirt), scoring by 1.5 lengths to make it two wins in succession. Umberto Rispoli who has two wins when partnering stays on. Bold showing expected. PIONEER PRINCE (4) finished sixth two runs back at Santa Anita (Dirt) then improved last time out to score by 1.5 lengths as favourite after being in contention on the turn over 1m1/2f at this track (Turf). Stepping up a level this time but on his best form he is one of the key runners. KID AZTECA (1) hasn't won recently but looks close to a breakthrough based on his last start third at Santa Anita (Turf) over 6f when beaten 1.75 lengths. Should park just off the speed. Will give backers a great sight. LAHAINA FLAVOR (3) missed the placings two runs back then didn't do any better last start when 4.5 lengths away in seventh over 1m3f at this track. Well placed to bounce back.
