PRIMAL SPIRIT (5) went forward and proved too strong last time out, scoring by 2.25 lengths over 6f at this track. Will again be prominent from the outset. Likely improver with strong prospects. BOLD RESPONSE (9) pushed forward and was a determined winner by one length over 6f at Moonee Valley last time out. Will find this easier than last start. Has winning claims. EXCESS (4) ran below expectations last time at Caulfield, finishing seventh and beaten 4 lengths. Suitably placed so expecting a better run this time.
