MEATLOAF (3) went forward last time but couldn't quicken in the run home and finished fourth over 1m at Wagga. Well placed on this occasion and gets his chance to break the ice. ROMANTIC TOM (4) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 7f at Canberra, beaten 11 lengths into eighth. Must raise the bar but a big run is on the cards. ROGUE 'N' READY (7) was in contention on the turn and finished third last time over 6½f at Canberra, beaten 2.5 lengths. Will trim down following recent racing. Placed to advantage so expect another bold run.
