ELPHINSTONE (7) comes here off a break of four-and-a-half months. Worth noting she filled a minor placing when returning from a lay-off last prep over 6f at this track. Rates highly and makes plenty of appeal. FAIR GAME (8) produced a nice effort on debut in better company last start over 5f at Pakenham when third, beaten 4.5 lengths. Promising type with improvement to come so she should be in the finish again. KNUCKLE (2) is a three-start maiden who could only manage to finish fifth at his latest appearance over 6½f at Ararat. Looks to be in the right race to play a big role. LOVE 'N' RUN (12) closed off strongly last start to get up for second, beaten 1.3 lengths, over 5½f at Ararat when resuming after a break. Should be winding up late again.
