PARIS LAD (1) finished 2 lengths from the winner in fourth last start over 6½f at this track, an improvement on his fifth at Muswellbrook the run before. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot find winning ways. HOLY MACKEREL (4) travelled just behind the leader before taking over and scoring a determined win by 1.5 lengths over 7f here last time. Among the top chances again. HYPOTHERMIA (5) got home by just 0.9 lengths at her latest appearance over 7f at Grafton. Gets some weight relief this time so another bold run looks likely. BEAR'S BEST (10) has not won for a long while. Last raced on November 1 when beaten 2.5 lengths into fifth at Moree over 6½f. Good enough on his day and can fill a top-three spot.
