COLONEL VARGO (8) scored at his most recent appearance, getting home by 1.5 lengths over 6½f at this track (Dirt) as favourite. That continued the solid form this campaign, with seven wins and five minor placings from 15 runs. Sure to go well again. HONORARY DEGREE (3) scored two runs back then was well in commission last time but could only manage to finish fifth over 7f at this track (Dirt) after he had settled well back. Finds a nice race and can make amends. FIRST DEPUTY (5) did a great job to score by 5 lengths over this course and distance last start in a far better run. No reason he cannot salute again. MR PHIL (7) has been in the market at his last couple of starts but hasn't made an impression, last start finishing ninth over 6f at this track (Dirt). Top-three prospects.
