Grand Slam of Darts treble: Gerwyn Price, Luke Humphries and Krzysztof Ratajski backed to progress

Gerwyn Price in Premier League action

The 2023 Grand Slam of Darts enters its third day with eight players set to progress into the knockout stages of the tournament.

One man who made a stellar start to his group stage campaign is the tournament favourite, Gerwyn Price.

The Iceman showed cold blood in his 5-1 and 5-0 victories over Nathan Rafferty and Ryan Searle over the weekend.

On Monday night, the Welshman takes on Gian van Veen. The Dutchman is the big underdog considering he’s bottom of the group and winless against Price in four previous meetings.

Luke Humphries is another strong contender for the title and the Englishman has made a similarly strong start to his Grand Slam campaign.

Cool Hand followed up his 5-2 victory over Steve Lennon with a 5-1 demolition of two-time world champion Gary Anderson.

Humphries averaged over 100 in both matches and we’re backing him to do the business against Dirk van Duijvenbode.

The Dutchman has one win and one defeat to his name, though he’s lost his last three encounters against Humphries.

What’s more, Sunday’s victory over Lennon ended Duijvenbode’s run of five-straight defeats across all competitions.

Krzysztof Ratajski is the sole Polish representative at the Grand Slam and could yet make the play-offs in a narrow Group A.

The Pole, who is level on points with second-placed James Wade, takes on bottom-of-the-group Nathan Girvan.

With Wade taking on world champion Michael Smith, Ratajski will sense a real opportunity of progression should he prevail against Girvan.

The Polish Eagles has been playing decent darts, picking up a 5-4 win over Wade and averaging 101 in a 5-4 defeat to Smith.

While Girvan will undoubtedly give his all, our recommendation is to stick a determined Ratajski in your treble.

Suggested bet
