Australian Masters: Free darts betting tips, predictions, odds, how to watch and schedule

The World Series of Darts continues this weekend as the tungsten extravaganza heads to Wollongong, Australia.

Eight PDC stars take on eight local participants in a knockout tournament to determine who will take the £20,000 prize.

Teenage sensation Luke Littler has enjoyed a great first season on the World Series of Darts tour, winning two of the five events and reaching three finals.

Littler won the last event which was the Poland Masters in June. The Brit demolished former world champion Rob Cross 8-3 in the final.

While Littler is undoubtedly seen as one of the top contenders, you can’t look past someone like Cross.

Voltage has reached the final in each of the previous three World Series of Darts events.

Cross will be looking to electrify Australia after a disappointing showing in the recent Players Championship events.

Looking at the full line-up, current world champion Luke Humphries is the man to beat.

Cool Hand Luke has never won a World Series of Darts event – in fact, he’s never even made a final.

It can’t be long before Humphries eventually breaks his bogey at the tournament and secures his first victory.

The 29-year-old is enjoying a tremendous season having already won the World Matchplay and the World Cup of Darts. He also made the final of the UK Open and claimed the German Darts Grand Prix crown.

Question is, can any of the Australians rock the boat and potentially threaten an upset on home turf?

Their best hope comes in the form of Damon Heta. So far this season, The Heat reached the UK Open semi-final and the Masters quarter-final. He also went all the way at Players Championship 4.

Heta is the highest ranked Australian in the competition and if the hosts are to impress, the 36-year-old will be key.

Arguably the most famous Aussie in the draw is Simon Whitlock. The 2010 World Championship runner-up is a legend on the darting scene.

Trouble is the 55-year-old has been far from his scintillating best for some time. Perhaps the homely atmosphere will spur him on towards one last epic run.

If you’re asking for our tip to go all the way, we’re backing Humphries. But if you fancy a dark horse at a bigger price, keep your eyes on Heta who will be looking to impress in front of his home fans.
