Grand Slam of Darts: Saturday schedule as Damon Heta and Rob Cross meet in heavyweight showdown
The race for the semi-finals continues at the Grand Slam of Darts this Saturday evening with two big games taking place in Wolverhampton.
American Stowe Buntz is enjoying a fairytale run at the tournament and will be looking to go one step further when he takes on Stephen Bunting.
The Grand Slam has produced unlikely winners in the past, with Jose de Sousa and Scott Waites springing to mind.
While Buntz is undoubtedly the underdog, he will take a lot of encouragement from the fact he has already picked up a victory over Bunting in this very event.
The two men clashed in the group stage, with the American winning 5-3 to ensure progression.
This upcoming quarter-final clash will take place over a longer format, with the first player to 16 legs bagging the win.
Bunting will be hoping his experience on the big stage will help him over the line in this potential banana skin tie.
The second match of the night is a real heavyweight tussle between Damon Heta and Rob Cross.
The Aussie enters the match on the back of his victory over Michael van Gerwen, but will need to overcome a four-match losing run against Cross.
Speaking of the former world champion, the current world number nine bagged his semi-final spot with a victory over Nathan Aspinall.
Cross will be determined to go one step further as he targets his first major honour since the 2021 European Championship.
