Dutch Darts Masters news: James Wade and Dimitri Van den Bergh out to stop Dutch dominance

James Wade

England’s James Wade and Belgium’s Dimitri Van den Bergh are the last two seeded players remaining ahead of the final day of action at the Dutch Darts Masters.

Michael Smith, Michael van Gerwen, Peter Wright, Gerwyn Price, Fallon Sherrock and Jonny Clayton all spectacularly crashed out in the opening round.

World number five James Wade is the highest ranked player left in the competition and takes on Maik Kuivenhoven in the quarter-final.
The two men last went head-to-head during the fifth event of this year's Players Championship. On that occasion, it was the Dutchman who prevailed 6-4 in Barnsley.
However, Wade is a former World Series of Darts winner and will be looking to emulate his recent semi-final run at the Nordic Darts Masters.
Wade or Kuivenhoven will square off with the winner of the first quarter-final, which sees Martijn Kleermaker take on Dirk van Duijvenbode.
Both Dutchmen enjoyed high-profile victories on Friday, with Kleermaker beating top seed Michael Smith and Van Duijvenbode taking out the current world champion, Peter Wright.

The two men have played on the PDC Tour on three occasions since 2020, with Van Duijvenbode winning them all.
Dimitri Van den Bergh is the second non-Dutch player left in the event, and he will take on Jermaine Wattimena.
The Belgian player has won 10 of his last 12 competitive matches in the PDC, winning the Nordic Darts Masters along the way.

The final quarter-final clash will see Danny Noppert take on crowd-favourite Vincent van der Voort.
Both men enjoyed major victories in the opening round, with Van der Voort beating former world champion Gerwyn Price and Noppert taking out the returning Michael van Gerwen.
The duo have clashed in a recent Players Championship event, with Noppert coming up on top following a 6-4 win in Germany.
