Guadalajara is a popular stop for the WTA Tour which offsets its inconvenient slot on the schedule.
The ATP Tour returns after a week's break enforced by the Davis Cup window.
Here we take a look at selected matches on Tuesday, 19 September 2023, and pick the potential winners to inform your tennis accumulator.
ATP Chengdu: Pavel Kotov vs Jose Rubin Statham | Pick: Kotov

WTA Guadalajara: Aliaksandra Sasnovich vs Caroline Garcia | Pick: Garcia
WTA Guadalajara: Ons Jabeur vs Alycia Parks | Pick: Jabeur
ATP Chengdu: Pavel Kotov vs Jose Rubin Statham
Pavel Kotov won't be underestimating the Aussie across the court from him after suffering a US Open shock at the hands of an Australian wildcard.
Kotov had enjoyed some good form earlier this term but a recent slump will be a great concern for him.
This is the kind of match that Kotov will need to win if he is to remain consistently in the top 100.
For Statham the lesser Chinese events provide an opportunity to try and get a foothold on the ATP Tour.
ATP Chengdu: Nick Chappell vs Philip Sekulic
Young Australian Philip Sekulic is the narrow favourite heading into his clash with American journeyman Nick Chappell.
Both players are outside the top 300 and benefit from the awkward travel situation and the Davis Cup running into this week's action.
Sekulic has contested three finals this season but none at the ATP Tour level.
Chappel meanwhile has struggled for wins outside of the United States.
ATP Zhuhai: Marc Polmans vs Bohua Dong
Home hope Bohua Dong is set to make his ATP Tour main draw debut and will be out to best the world No 152.
Polmans has been made favourite but Dong will have the benefit of playing at home and should also have that first main draw adrenaline coursing through his veins.
Polmans is a beatable player even for somebody like the 21-year-old Chinese rookie.
This will be the first meeting between these two players.
ATP Zhuhai: Robert Strombachs vs Arthur Weber
Arthur Weber will be out to repeat his ATP Challenger form as he returns to Zuhai not long after winning a title in the city.
Frenchman Weber takes on 24-year-old German Robert Strombachs for the first time in their careers.
Weber's Zuhai Challenger win was the pinnacle of his career to date and he will look to channel that in this encounter.
WTA Guangzhou: Daria Saville Gavrilova vs Anna Lena Friedsam
Anna Friedsam owns a victory over Daria Saville in their only previous meeting and is ranked higher but recent form suggests the Australian is on course to prevail.
A former top 20 star Saville has had her injury struggles but has shown glimpses of elite quality this season.
Saville's loss to Friedsam came early on her comeback trail and she will be driven to get the win back.
Friedsam comes into the tournament on a three-match losing streak.
WTA Guangzhou: Nadia Podoroska vs Xiyu Wang
Nadia Podoroska had looked a threat to the top 50 for a time earlier this season but she has struggled on hard courts.
Xiyu Wang lost in the first round in Osaka last week but her opponent would go on to reach the final while Podoroska bowed out in the second round with a tame defeat to eventual semi-finalist Mai Hontama.
For Wang playing at home in her first ever match against Podoroska could be the difference.
Just four rankings places separate the two players going into the week.
WTA Guadalajara: Aliaksandra Sasnovich vs Caroline Garcia
After the action in China, Guadalajara will own the night on Tuesday with a pair of popcorn clashes.
Caroline Garcia should be desperate to turn around a recent slump but faces a tricky opponent first up.
Garcia has beaten the Russian all five times they have met but cannot afford to let complacency creep in.
The Frenchwoman dropped out of the top ten this week but a strong run in Mexico could get her right back in the Tour finals race.
WTA Guadalajara: Ons Jabeur vs Alycia Parks
Ons Jabeur has a relatively strong position in the tour race thanks to her Grand Slam form but faces a player that many have their eye on for the future.
Parks is a deceptively powerful player and will be out to overwhelm Jabeur from the baseline.
Jabeur has shown that she can handle Parks before having beaten twice in straight sets.
Parks will be out to gain her first win over Jabeur and second top ten triumph of the season, having bested Garcia in the Lyon final earlier this term.
