Novak Djokovic's iconic racket sells for over $100,000 at auction

The significance of Djokovic's need to secure a victory at the French Open to complete a career Grand Slam added immense value to the racket. 

His triumphant win against Great Britain's Andy Murray in the Paris final is often regarded by Djokovic himself as one of the defining moments in his illustrious career.

In a departure from tradition, Djokovic did not retain the racket that played a pivotal role in solidifying his status as one of the sport's legends. 

Instead, in a spontaneous gesture, he threw it into the Roland Garros crowd, where it was fortuitously caught by a lucky spectator named Abby Doherty.

Recently, the iconic racket made its way to the SCP auction site with an estimated value exceeding $50,000. However, the final sale price astoundingly surpassed expectations, reaching an impressive $107,500.
