Novak Djokovic and Iga Swiatek to play in United Cup team event

Novak Djokovic US Open

Superstars Novak Djokovic and Iga Swiatek will both compete in the new-look United Cup later this year.

The mixed team competition will get underway in Australia in December and will feature nine of the world's top 20 men and five of the world’s top 10 women.

Swiatek and Hubert Kurkacz will lead team Poland – they have been named as the top seeds while entries from the top 16 seeds were revealed on Thursday, including Djokovic alongside other big names such as Alex Zverev, Casper Ruud and Wimbledon winner Marketa Vondrousova.

Cameron Norrie, Dan Evans, and Katie Boulter are the standout names representing Great Britain, who also enter the competition as one of the top-seeded teams.

Eighteen countries will contest the second edition of the competition and each team will comprise up to three men and three women.

Each country will be drawn into six groups of three countries and will compete in a round-robin format.

New to the competition for this year – each tie will be determined in one session, including one men's singles and one women's singles match featuring the number one ranked singles players, followed by one mixed doubles match.
