Iga Swiatek beat Jessica Pegula to march into her ninth final of the year at the San Diego Open
It was business as usual for world number one Iga Swiatek, as she came from a set down to defeat Jessica Pegula 4-6 6-2 6-2 and book her spot in the San Diego Open final on Sunday.
The 21-year-old will meet the winner of the semi-final between Danielle Collins and Donna Vekic, which did not reach a conclusion on Saturday due to rain delays.
The Polish star extended her fine form this term with her 63rd win of the 2022 season.
Swiatek's fourth win over Pegula pushed her record in the United States this season to 23 wins and one defeat.
Collins leads Vekic 4-2 in the final set of the other last-four clash, which will be completed on Sunday. Then later, Swiatek will play in her ninth final of 2022.
