Danielle Collins vs Jessica Pegula , Sunday May 28, 10 am
An All-American popcorn clash between Danielle Collins and Jessica Pegula promises intrigue on Sunday.
Pegula has slugged her way through a tough clay swing but looked in decent touch in a run to the last eight in Madrid.
Collins lost the only match she played on clay this season but is a player who saves her best performances for Grand Slams.
Suggested bets
Pegula to start strong with opening set win
Set score prediction: Pegula to win in straight sets
Maria Sakkari vs Karolina Muchova, Sunday May 28, 10 am
Top ten star Maria Sakkari has been given a nightmare opener against Czech Karolina Muchova who is better than her 5-4 record at Roland Garros suggests.
Sakkari has a big point to prove as a player who might feel that she is dropping away from the elite group of players.
Muchova is a tough nut to crack though and her Davis Cup experience on clay should be a boost to her in this environment
Suggested bets
Muchova to open strong with first set win
Muchova to take opener 7-5
Set score prediction: Muchova 3-1 Sakkari
Victoria Azarenka vs Bianca Andreescu, Sunday May 28, 10 am
Former Grand Slam winners Victoria Azarenka and Bianca Andreescu face off in opening-round action in the French Open on Sunday.
It will be the first time that former world No 1 Azarenka has faced the Canadian who has never been beyond the second round at Roland Garros.
Azarenka reached the semi-finals in Paris in 2013 but hasn't been beyond the fourth round in seven appearances since.
Suggested bets
Azarenka over Andreescue in opening set
Andreescu to lose opening set 2-6
Set score prediction: Azarenka 3-0 Andreescu
Karolina Pliskova vs Sloane Stephens, Sunday May 28, 10 am
Former world No 1 Karolina Pliskova has a first round date with 2017 US Open winner Sloane Stephens.
Stephens sports a 4-1 head-to-head lead over Wimbledon finalist Pliskova, but the Czech has enjoyed a better 2023 to date.
The American jets in from Rabat where she was a semi-finalist in the week ahead of Roland Garros.
Suggested bets
Pliskova with an opening set win
Czech Pliskova 6-4 over Stephens on set 1
Set score prediction: Pliskova 3-2 Stephens
