Day five guide - Selected women's matches

(All times subject to change)

Elena Rybakina (4) vs Linda Noskova

Thursday, 1 June. Time: 10:00

Fourth seed Rybakina will start things off on Court Suzanne Lenglen, where she is up against Noskova, an 18-year-old Czech player at her first tournament at Roland Garros.

Noskova hardly broke a sweat in her victory in the first round over Danka Kovinic, who retired hurt at the start of the second set.

Rybakina, meanwhile, got her tournament off with a routine win over Brenda Fruhvirtova, which saw her clay record for 2023 improve to 10-2. A quarter-finalist two years ago, Rybakina also has a claycourt title to her name - winning in Rome last month.
After breaking into the top 50 earlier this year, Noskova is definitely one to watch for in future, but the occasion might just be too big for her against the Wimbledon champion.

Suggested bets

Noskova starts fast and win first set
Rybakina wins first set 7-5
Rybakina to win first set 6-4

Set score prediction: Rybakina to win straight sets

Kayla Day vs Madison Keys (20)

Thursday, 1 June, Time: 10am

It will be an all-American affair when 20th-seed Keys take on the 138th-ranked Day on Court Simonne Mathieu.

They played once before, at the same stage of the 2018 US Open, where Day only won two games in a one-sided affair. Although, she was only 18 at the time while Keys was in the top 10.

The 28-year-old Keys didn't have it all her own way in her first round against Kaia Kanepi, winning in three sets, a result which saw her 2023 record improve to 16-7.

Day, meanwhile, had a nice straight-set win over Kristina Mladenovic, having come through the qualifiers.
A former semi-finalist, Keys might have dropped a few places on the rankings and is hanging onto a spot in the top 20s, and the 23-year-old Day has undoubtedly improved, but a similar result is the most likely outcome as in their other encounter.

Suggested bets

Day to draw first blood and win opener
Keys to start well and win first set
Keys to win tie-breaker in first set

Set score prediction: Keys to win straight sets

Iga Swiatek (1) vs Claire Liu

Thursday, 1 June, Time: 12:45

Another match between a seeded player and one outside the top 100, although this time it's the number one Swiatek against Liu, ranked 102.

Liu's had a bit of a rough start to 2023 - after being ranked 52nd at the start of the year, she's 50 places lower than that heading into arguably the biggest match of her career on Philippe Chatrier.

Swiatek didn't quite have it all her own way in her first-round win over Cristina Bucsa, twice having to come from a break down, but once she found her footing, it was one-way traffic.

The win also improved her 2023 record to 17-3. Liu, meanwhile, had a straight sets win over Ylena In-Albon in her opener.
The top seed won the only other match against her American opponent, winning 6-0, 6-1 at Indian Wells last month, and it's hard to see this match go any different.

Suggested bets

Liu to catch Swiatek napping
Swiatek to win first set 6-0
Swiatek to win first set 6-1

Set score prediction: Swiatek to win straight sets
