American tennis player Jenson Brooksby denies any wrongdoing after provisional suspension
Jenson Brooksby claims he has never failed a drug test after revealing he had been provisionally banned for missing three officially scheduled drug tests.
Jenson Brooksby has revealed he has accepted a provisional doping suspension over three missed tests in 12 months.
The 22-year-old, who reached a high of 33 in the rankings last summer, said on Instagram he is provisionally suspended as of this week but denies the charge.
"The provisional suspension is not an admission that I have done anything wrong; to the contrary, I have denied this charge and am waiting for an arbitration with an independent tribunal," he wrote.
"I have never failed a drug test, and I have never taken any substances that I was not allowed to take."
Under the whereabouts system, players must say an hour each day where they will be available for testing at a given location, with three missed tests in a 12-month period potentially resulting in a ban.
Brooksby, who has not played since January because of wrist surgery, claims at the time of one of the alleged missed tests in the Netherlands last June he was where he had stated he would be.
"This year has been filled with tremendous adversity and I am looking forward to putting all this behind me and getting back on tour," he concluded.
