Wolfsburg vs Bayern Munich tips and predictions: Bavarians back to their best in high-scoring win

Wolfsburg will host Bayern Munich at the Volkswagen Arena in a Bundesliga clash on Wednesday evening (1930 GMT).

The Bavarians will be looking to keep pace with league-leaders Bayer Leverkusen, and a win would go a long way towards achieving that goal.

It’s been a good week for Thomas Tuchel’s side as they claimed two important victories, beating Man Utd 1-0 and Stuttgart 3-0.

In the first half of the season, Bayern had moments when they played at an incredible level but performances have dipped recently.

In the previous round, they rediscovered that level in the win against Stuttgart. However, the Bavarians are still in second place, four points behind Leverkusen, but with a game in hand.

Wolfsburg has won only one of their last four games in all competitions, a 1-0 victory over bottom-of-the-table Darmstadt. Despite this, they sit ninth in the league table, only five points off Europe.

Unfortunately, Wolfsburg is one of Bayern’s favourite victims. They’ve lost ten of the last eleven meetings with their last victory coming in 2015.

With 47 goals scored in 14 rounds, Bayern has the best offence in Germany. Harry Kane, who has been in phenomenal form since joining from Tottenham, has scored 20 of those goals.

Kane added to his tally with a brace in the win over Stuttgart with Kim Min-jae’s second-half header making sure.

The two teams have met 52 times in the Bundesliga, and the record is incredibly one-sided, with Bayern winning 41 times. It’s hard to see past an emphatic away win on current form.
