Luton Town vs Everton tips and predictions: Leaky Hatters to suffer hammer blow

Luton Town are desperately in need of three points to boost their Premier League survival chances, so they’ll be hopeful they can exploit an already safe Everton side on Friday (2000 BST).

Four home wins on the spin have carried Everton to Premier League survival, but roles will be reversed on Friday as Luton Town scrap to escape the drop zone.

The Hatters are a point behind Nottingham Forest with three games remaining and despite the Toffees' fantastic form, this game could come at a good time for them.

Everton are winless in 10 on their travels and it’s only natural they’d drop their levels now that survival is mathematically guaranteed.

On the other hand, Luton have collapsed. Rob Edwards’ side claimed 20 points from their first 21 matches, yet they’ve only managed six from their last 15 fixtures.

Their final away game sees them visit West Ham United, who may be fighting for a place in Europe, so their home fixtures with the Merseyside club and Fulham are must-wins.

Notably, Town have recorded two wins against Everton this season, one in the Premier League and one in the FA Cup, but that may just motivate the visitors.

Since beating Brighton 4-0 on January 20, Luton have shipped just shy of an average of 2.8 goals per game. Seven sides have put three or more past them during that run.

Dyche’s side aren’t known for being prolific, but they are a stingy defence. Their last eight wins have been to nil and they typically hold their hosts to one or fewer goals.

You can’t concede that many goals at this level and expect to win games and survive, so with the bookies pricing this match as a toss-up, we’ll happily side with the visitors.
