From online to Wembley - Hashtag United's iconic moments so far
Although Hashtag United's history is brief, The Tags have already gathered up a number of iconic and successful moments since their creation in 2016.
Spencer Carmichael-Brown, aka Spencer Owen or Spencer FC, is a YouTuber and founder of non-league football club Hashtag United, who play in the Essex Senior League.
Spencer rose to fame as The FIFA Playa in 2013, where he would challenge other YouTubers on the popular soccer video game, FIFA. The videos were posted onto his own channel, as well as popular football-based channel Copa90.
After a successful start in the YouTube scene, Spencer retired The FIFA Playa brand and changed his channel name to Spencer FC, where he would go on to thrive within the YouTube soccer community.
Popular series on his channel included Once a Lion, The Wheel of Fortune, Moore than a legend, and Forever Blowin', where he displayed his love of the game, his support of West Ham United and his imaginative twists to FIFA.
His passion and love for soccer fueled his channel, at one point achieving a total of 1.98 million YouTube subscribers.
Through his YouTube triumph, Spencer would go onto host the Wembley Cup series, sponsored by EE. The Wembley Cup would consist of two teams of YouTube stars, including legends such as Robert Pires and Robbie Fowler, battling out for the annual Wembley Cup trophy at the famous ground.
In March 2016, Spencer founded Hashtag United.
However, after two years of grassroots soccer, Hashtag became a member of the English football league system in 2018, joining the Eastern Counties League.
Spencer's dream had become a reality. After stepping down as manager he was replaced by Jay Devereux and Hashtag United began their climb up the footballing pyramid.
In their first season, the club won the 2018/19 Division One South title and were promoted to the Essex Senior League.

Spencer is engaged to his fiance Alex Osipczak, co-founder, and owner of Hashtag United. Spencer and Alex had their first child, a son, in December 2020.
