Southampton winger Nathan Tella joins Bayer Leverkusen
Nathan Tella has joined Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen from Southampton.
The 24-year-old, who scored 17 league goals on loan as Burnley won promotion back to the Premier League last season, has signed a five-year contract after joining for a reported £20million fee.
"Many younger players from the Premier League got a chance in the Bundesliga and were able to improve significantly here," Tella told Leverkusen's website.
"This is an impressive team who made it to the semi-finals of the Europa League last season. I really want to continue on this path with Bayer 04."
Tella joined Southampton's academy from Arsenal as a 17-year-old and Saints in a statement: "Although disappointed to lose such a talented homegrown player and popular character, the club felt the offer represented fair value for the 24-year-old.
"The move also gives him the opportunity to fulfil his desire to play abroad, and play in the Europa League this season."
